About

At Crisis Clinic Of The Peninsulas, our roots are firmly grounded in compassionate community support. Since 1965, we’ve been a pillar of hope and help for residents in Kitsap, Clallam, and Jefferson Counties.

What began as a humble “Crisis Hotline” staffed by caring housewives and local professionals has now evolved into a dynamic digital platform that continues to serve the public—just in new and innovative ways.

Our Legacy

Our Mission:
To provide crisis intervention, utilizing state-of-the-science delivery systems, information and referral services, and supportive listening by telephone to people in the community who are experiencing situational distress.

Back in 1965, bell bottoms and tie-dyes were in fashion, a steak dinner cost a dollar, and a small group of dedicated laypeople and clinicians saw a growing need: a place where individuals could talk through life’s challenges and feel heard. That need birthed the Crisis Clinic. With 8 volunteer housewives by day and 25 professionals by night, the Clinic became a lifeline for those in distress. Volunteers often followed up with callers, ensuring no one felt alone.

Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our volunteers—some of whom still serve today—the Clinic became the third oldest crisis line in the United States. Today, our team of over 20 trained crisis workers continues to offer compassionate care, fielding more than 18,000 calls annually, 24/7.

Our Transformation

As times have changed, so has our mission. Crisis Clinic Of The Peninsulas has transformed into a modern news and media platform—yet our core remains the same: to support individuals navigating life’s challenges.

Now, we empower our community—especially retirees and caregivers—by delivering accurate, up-to-date information on government assistance programs such as SNAP, Social Security, IRS stimulus checks, and food stamp benefits. We break down the complexities of public support systems, helping readers understand their eligibility, payment schedules, and how to access the aid they deserve.

But our work doesn’t stop there.

We also guide coin collectors, history enthusiasts, and everyday people in discovering the hidden value in their homes. From rare pennies to high-value quarters, our coin-related updates help individuals uncover treasures that could be worth thousands.

Moving Forward

Though the form has changed, our purpose hasn’t. Crisis Clinic Of The Peninsulas continues to be a trusted source of help, hope, and knowledge—whether through a phone call in 1965 or a digital article in 2025. We are proud of our past and even more excited about what lies ahead.
